Partner Logistics, UK, invested in two new trailers for its shuttle operations at its near 80,000-pallet capacity cold storage center in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire.

The new Schmitz Cargobull S.KO COOL semitrailers, which will be used to move frozen food products between the Partner Logistics deep-freeze warehouse and the production facilities of Lamb Weston and Pinguin UK, are fitted with automatic vehicle offload systems, which reduce loading and unloading times.

The Partner Logistics shuttle trucks are in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are expected to cover 75,000kms per annum, with the capacity to handle up to 5,000 pallets each week. They will support the operations of the Wisbech warehouse, which is said to be the UK’s largest cold store.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve every aspect of our operations,” says Trevor Hudson, commercial manager. “This represents a significant investment in delivering a first-class service that demands stability and demonstrates our commitment to providing the best possible service to our customers.”
