Interstate Warehousing, Inc., Fort Wayne, Ind., announced plans to build a new cold storage warehouse facility in Anderson, Ind.

Phase I of the project will be a 250,000-square-foot facility built by Tippmann Construction, Fort Wayne, Ind., with site work scheduled to begin in December. The 76-acre site leaves room for potential maximum build of more than 1,000,000 square feet as the facility continues to grow.

Interstate Warehousing, a Tippmann Group company, already maintains a strong presence in Indiana, with corporate offices in Fort Wayne, and two other cold storage facilities in the Indianapolis area.

“We chose Anderson, Ind., because it was a good strategic fit for our business,” says John Tippmann, Jr., president. “This new location will provide us with additional opportunities to expand our customer base, and continue to grow our company.”

The $30 million capital investment will add approximately 60 new jobs after the building is completed in the 3rd quarter of 2018. The facility will be a multi-temperature storage warehouse with approximately 30,000 pallet positions and state-of-the-art equipment featuring some of the newest technology in the industry.
