Preferred Freezer Services, Chatham, N.J., is overseeing the construction of its newest facility, Big Bear in Los Angeles. Big Bear will satisfy the demand for modern and efficient cold storage warehousing services in the Los Angeles market, and will be the company’s seventh in the Los Angeles area and 38th in the United States.

The newest warehouse, scheduled to open mid-year, will be located near Interstate 5 and just minutes from downtown Los Angeles. The state-of-the-art facility will cover an entire city block and will add over 90,000 pallet positions to the company’s expanding footprint. The 500-foot-wide building will feature 32 dock doors and will have the capacity to store approximately 160 million pounds of product.
