Plant-based walnutmilk
Mariani Nut Co., Winters, Calif., launched what is said to be the first-to-market line of refrigerated Walnutmilk in the plant-based milk category.
Made with 100% California-grown walnuts, Mariani Walnutmilk is rich in calcium and other nutrients, and offers significantly less sugar than dairy or other plant-based milks. Mariani Walnutmilk is also lactose-free, delivers 50% more calcium than typical dairy milk and only 45 calories per 8-ounce serving.
“Our test [shows] consumers loved the flavor and creaminess and recognized walnuts as a true superfood offering numerous health benefits,” says Matt Mariani, retail sales and marketing. “We are excited to bring this innovative line of Walnutmilk to the refrigerated dairy case.”
Mariani Walnutmilk is available in half-gallon cartons in Original, Vanilla and Unsweetened flavors, in regional retail partners in Texas and northern California for a suggested retail price of $3.49-3.99.
