Piab introduced piCOBOT, an equipped end-of-arm vacuum tool designed specifically for the cobot market. Featuring the company’s signature vacuum technology, piCOBOT comprises a vacuum pump unit, a gripper unit and two suction cups. Certified by Universal Robots, piCOBOT features +/-15-degree tiltable gripper arms, and is able to lift objects weighing up to 15.5 pounds.

AUTOMATIC TEST TECHNOLOGY FOR METAL DETECTION
Fortress Technology unveiled Halo, an updated version of its automatic test technology. Halo works by effectively duplicating the signal disturbance that occurs during manual testing, without having to physically pass a metal contaminant through the metal detector. It automatically generates a signal calibrated to specified sphere sizes, logging the test results to provide a reliable audit trail. It also checks the performance of the reject system. Plus, Halo has been adapted to work with a conveyor-style metal detector to test frozen bulk items.

MOBILE APP USES BARCODES TO MANAGE INVENTORY
Dynamic Systems launched Advanced SIMBA Mobile, a new application that uses barcodes to manage inventory and upload information to any accounting system. Designed for large fresh food distributors and wholesale companies, the Advanced SIMBA Mobile application records inventory from receiving through storage and shipping, then counts inventory and prints a discrepancy report. Middleware stores the information collected by the scanners or tablets, such as inventory totals, receipts and shipping information, and uploads the appropriate data to an ERP or accounting system. Plus, it can work in coolers, freezers and on the loading dock, providing real-time inventory information.

KION North America released the Baoli Series 6012 forklift with load capacities ranging from 3,500-10,000 pounds. Offered in two different models—KBD40 and KBD50—the Baoli Series 6012 is a diesel, 4-wheel truck equipped with single or dual SE or pneumatic drive tires, making it suitable for a variety of environments. Both models are equipped with a tilting, adjustable steering column, a comfort suspension seat with high-visibility orange seat belt and a roomy, cushioned operator compartment.

Cognex released the In-Sight 9000, a series of ultra-high-resolution vision systems that acquire detailed images for high-accuracy part location, measurement and inspection over large areas—even when mounted at long distances. The In-Sight 9000 series consists of two models—the 9902L (2K line scan) and the 9912 (12MP area scan)—both IP67-rated for use in harsh factory environments. SELF-DRIVING VEHICLE
Seegrid released the GT10 Series 6 Plus self-driving vehicle, as part of its Seegrid Smart Platform, which utilizes rear-facing sensors to detect obstacles while autonomously hitching to carts. This new vehicle offers fully automated material movement from pickup to drop-off, removing the need for human assistance to complete tasks. Meanwhile, the Seegrid Performance Report leverages data captured on self-driving vehicles and provides improved insights into vehicle productivity. And, enhancements to Seegrid Supervisor enables operators to manage more tasks, such as the automatic pairing of available vehicles with work tasks, standardization of vehicle behaviors and auto-building route maps.

FILTER CARTRIDGE FOR INDUSTRIAL DUST COLLECTION
Camfil APC introduced the Gold Cone X-Flo (GCX) filter cartridge for high-efficiency industrial dust collection. Building on the HemiPleat Gold Cone technology, GCX filters are said to stay cleaner and last longer than conventional pleated filters. GCX filter cartridges use a proprietary inner pleat pack with an open-bottomed, inner-cone of media that greatly expands the usable surface area of the cartridge. Because the HemiPleat design exposes more media to the airstream, more dust is loaded on the filter and released during pulse cleaning. These filters are available in a selection of regular or nano fiber media and meet EPA particle emission requirements.

GLOVES WITHSTAND FREEZING TEMPERATURES
Volt Resistance launched waterproof Polar X gloves, which are equipped with a simple built-in switch that easily adjusts the heat output via three power level settings. A thick layer of foam insulation lines the back of the hand, helping to trap in heat and insulate the rechargeable lithium battery, allowing for extended run times in freezing temperatures. The Zero Layer Heat System is strategically located throughout the glove, providing coverage on both sides of the hand, including the entire length of each finger, the thumb as well as the back and palm side of the hand. The Polar X gloves provides over 150°F of soothing heat for 2-plus hours on the highest setting.

Leybold GmbH debuted the new VARODRY, a dry compressing screw vacuum pump. VARODRY is said to be the first 100% oil-free pump on the market. Its low internal temperatures peak around 100-130°C (depending on operation point), which allows handling of temperature-sensitive media, including freeze-drying applications.
