Associated Milk Producers Inc. (AMPI), New Ulm, Minn., announced plans to discontinue production at its Arlington, Iowa, non-fat dry milk plant and Rochester, Minn., cheese plant, affecting 49 and 75 employees, respectively. The decision stems from the continued decline in dairy farm numbers and milk production in the region.
Milk previously processed at these two locations will now be routed to other plants in the surrounding area, including the Blair, Wis., cheese plant.
