The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), the Washington, D.C.-based creator of LEED certifications, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design green building rating system, announced significant streamlining for all LEED pre-requisites and credits for California projects pursuing certification under LEED v4.
Since launching its sustainability efforts in 2008, the company has incorporated energy-saving measures designed to lower energy consumption, fossil fuel dependence and carbon emissions.

Lineage Logistics, a Colton, Calif.-based warehousing and logistics company sponsored by Bay Grove Capital LLC, San Francisco, contracted with Fisher Construction Group, Burlington, Wash., to build a 216,777-square-foot LEED-certified facility for Titan Frozen Fruit, Salinas, Calif.
Organically Grown Co. (OGC), an Elmhurst, Ill.-based distributor of organic produce, partnered with Engineered Products, a Papé company, Seattle, Wash., to select InsulWall as a wall system in its new Seattle-based LEED Gold facility.
The report shows that the design and construction industry in the United States is poised for wider adoption of building practices that prioritize the physical, mental and social well-being of tenants and occupants.
