Redefine Meat announced the commercial launch of its first ever series of ‘New-Meat’ products in Israel. Available in select restaurants and hotels nationwide, the plant-based range consists of a premium 170-gram (6 Oz.) hamburger, sausage, lamb kebab, middle eastern ‘cigar’, and ground beef developed for high-quality restaurants and open flame grilling.

Manna Tree has announced it is leading a $18mm Series D funding round for the disruptive platform Urban Remedy, the omni-channel, ultra-fresh provider chilled ready-to-eat meals, snacks, cold-pressed juices, and more. Through a proprietary ERP system, Urban Remedy cracked the code on profitable ultra fresh food (i.e. shelf life of one week, often less).

Rondo-Pak, a leading provider of quality folding cartons and printed components for the pharmaceutical, medical device and consumer industries, has attained certified vendor status with Genentech, a member of the Roche Group. This designation comes as a result of Rondo-Pak providing dozens of consecutive batches of material, totaling eight-million cartons, without a single complaint or failure. Michigan-based foodservice management company Creative Dining Services (CDS) has promoted Susan Golder to VP of marketing and business development, and Jane Newton to associate VP of people services, both effective July 1. Golder was previously director of marketing at CDS, while Newton was director of people services. 

Whole Foods Market has expanded its refrigerated distribution center in Cheshire, Connecticut, to support the significant growth of their store development program throughout the North Atlantic and Northeast Regions. As more consumers turned to online grocery shopping, the demand for cold storage space skyrocketed, and the business case for Whole Foods to grow this facility became even more essential.

New Wave Foods announced a distribution agreement with Gordon Food Service that provides direct access to New Wave Shrimp, the innovative new plant-based shrimp, to any operator or foodservice customer east of the Mississippi River or in the Southwest. Ordering plant-based New Wave Shrimp is now even more turnkey for independent and chain restaurants and foodservice providers that work with Gordon Food Service.

Kerry has opened an upgraded and renovated coating production facility in Rome, Georgia. Eric Adams has been named Managing Director for the newly established Eriez Deutschland GmbH, based in Recklinghausen, Germany. In his new role, Adams will lead efforts to increase Eriez’ presence throughout central Europe, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
