PACT, creator of packaging and crating technologies, has joined the Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles (COSTHA), a not-for-profit industry association devoted to promoting dangerous goods transportation compliance both domestically and abroad. PACT’s acceptance to the organization comes following the successful launch of its Thermo Shield, a paper-based, fire-resistant shipping wrap designed to prevent catastrophes caused by battery explosions during transport.

Premium poultry producer Bell & Evans began construction on a new 411,500-square-foot, Organic-Certified Chicken harvesting facility in Fredericksburg, Pennsylvania. The first precast walls were placed in July, and the facility will be operational by late 2021. The project will cost the company approximately $330 million and double its current production capacity.

Donnie King has been named president of Tyson Foods’ poultry business. King has over 35 years of experience working in the poultry business, both domestically and globally. He will once again lead the company’s chicken unit, guiding and mentoring members of its leadership team, including Chad Martin, who will take on the new role of chief operating officer of poultry.

Ti Cold Development, a nationally recognized leader in the cold chain industry, has begun work on a 315,000-square-foot cold storage facility in Phoenix. Upon completion, this facility will feature nearly 40,000 pallet positions, a 60-foot-deep refrigerated dock, 40-foot-deep refrigerated rail dock and -10F to 35F, fully convertible refrigerated / frozen space.
