Gathered Foods, makers of Good Catch plant-based seafood, today announced the appointment of Christine Mei as Chief Executive Officer. Mei will lead the growth and expansion of Gathered Foods as a preeminent innovator in the plant-based food industry.

Interroll has completed construction on its second plant on their campus in Hiram (Atlanta) Georgia. The $11 million investment gives Interroll a substantial increase in capacity for the region.

Dutch cheesemaker Vandersterre has recently partnered with Willicroft, a plant-based cheese company located in the Netherlands. Partnering with Willicroft will allow Vandersterre to explore the plant-based cheese market and the opportunities that come with it.

RLS Logistics, a third-generation cold chain solutions provider in the U.S., recently created a joint venture that will offer customers the ability to work with regional family-run cold storage providers on a national basis. The cornerstone of the plan is to partner with existing best-in-class operators in ten to twelve mega-regions of the U.S., as well as Eastern and Western Canada. 

The American Meat Science Association (AMSA) announces Dr. Elisabeth Huff-Lonergan as the recipient of the 2020 Distinguished Teaching Award. The award was established to recognize excellence in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate meat science courses and the impact on the lives of those students in a highly positive manner. Elmhurst 1925, maker of plant-based beverages, has expanded retail distribution of its Unsweetened Milked Almonds, Unsweetened Milked Oats and Unsweetened Milked Cashews. The three varieties can now be found in 1,855 new select Kroger banners across the U.S. including Ralphs, Roundy’s, King Soopers, Fred Meyer, Smith’s Food and Drug, QFC and Fry’s Food Stores, for a total of 5,732 new points of distribution.
