Earlier this year NSF International conducted a nationwide survey to understand food and beverage industry leaders' viewpoints on current issues related to food fraud and safety issues, social media, customer needs, brands and innovation. With much interest and curiosity on the results, we have put together an event to share our findings. 

Save the date on November 2, 2016 and join key expert speakers who will discuss the topics and share forecasts of what is ahead for 2017. This event is the first of its kind in the area and one not to be missed!

Key Issues in the Food Industry: Results of a Nationwide Survey

This session will kick-off the day with an overview outlining the results of the survey. Paul will share a high-level synopsis of the questions and overall findings of the hundreds of responses gathered food and beverage industry professionals from across Canada.

What Makes the Consumer Tick

Consumers are proceeding with caution in 2016 and value remains a key motivator and driver of sales. More than ever, each dollar counts with increased retail competition all while the consumer path to purchase continues to evolve. Connecting and understanding how today's savvy consumer is shopping and embracing technology to make purchase decisions is critical to keeping the sale. Understand what motivates the value-driven the consumer and how you must align with retailers in order to increase sales and drive business.

Hear from a panel of leading food industry innovators and entrepreneurs who will discuss topics such as responding to trends, executing strategy and growth. Panelists from the following companies will join us:
Katan Kitchens: A leader in research and development, Katan Kitchens produced the first Ontario grown Quinoa and successfully negotiated a deal on CBC's Dragon's Den.
IPL Plastics: Their product, SkinnyPack, was the 2015 Diamond Winner of the DuPont Awards For Packaging Innovation and before that they won a Gold Award for Best Prototype Package at the In-Mold Decorating Association Awards this year.
Bartesian: This modern mixology system creates premium cocktails on demand. Think of it like a Keurig for cocktails!
Peak Drive Beverages: Founder John McEachern loves soda, but like many he didn't always feel good about drinking it, so he decided to fix that. Today John and consumers can enjoy a soda made with unique flavours and natural ingredients.

Learn top storytelling strategies from real life marketing campaigns carried out nationwide within the foodservice industry to enhance your business' social content strategy. Branding and social marketing expert Sean Beckingham shares ways to take your brand beyond the plate by explaining how to connect with established leaders and how their social media movements were executed, leading toward well-engaged, well-shared storytelling successes. This talk will cover everything you've wanted to know about using top digital media platforms to initiate strong brand storytelling through social campaign strategies, content creation and online influence.
