The milk will be the first U.S. retail product to be packaged in the new Tetra Brik Aseptic recyclable carton.

The new plant will process up to 8 million pounds of milk per day from more than 100 regional farms. 

A 1-cup serving of Milk50 contains 9 grams of protein compared to 1-2 grams in most almond and oat drinks, and just 2-3 grams of sugar, depending on the variety.

The 190,000-square-foot production plant sits on 23 acres in the Magic Valley and has no plans for a brand of its own.

This is the third Walmart milk processing facility to deploy Swisslog’s automated storage and retrieval solution (AS/RS) featuring SynQ software and Vectura cranes.

The site is slated to open in 2026 and will create nearly 400 new jobs.

Walmart is planning to break ground on the milk processing facility later this year and the project is scheduled to be completed in 2025.

Opening in 2025, it will serve 750 Walmart, Sam’s Club stores in the region.
 

California Dairies has broken ground on a 220,000-square-foot milk processing facility in Kern County, California, near Bakersfield. The plant will be built on 30 acres of land and feature ultra-high temperature (UHT) and extended shelf-life (ESL) milk processing. The facility is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs when fully operational in 2023. 

Nestlé broke ground today on the construction of a new factory in Batang, Indonesia. The factory will create about 200 new jobs in the Central Java province and will produce Bear Brand liquid milk and ready-to-drink beverages, Milo and Nescafé, to fulfill growing consumer demand. It will be built on nearly 50 acres of land and will encourage the further development of the dairy sector in the region.
