Dairy giant Dean Foods, Dallas, said it promoted Chris Sliva, 46, to president at Morningstar, a division responsible for Dean's private label, extended shelf life and cultured businesses. Sliva had been Morningstar's chief operating officer since 2008.

"This well-deserved promotion recognizes Chris' leadership of the Morningstar business over the last two years," said Joe Scalzo, Dean Foods chief operating officer.  "Chris and his senior leadership team have designed and are implementing a business transformation to drive greater growth in this critical Dean Foods business."

Sliva joined Dean Foods at WhiteWave in 2006 as senior vice president of sales and chief customer officer. In 2008, he was promoted to chief operating officer, Morningstar. He previously served as vice president and general manager, Americas Output, for Eastman Kodak Corporation, where he also served as vice president, retail sales and vice president, U.S. sales. Prior experience also includes marketing and sales roles at Fort James Corp. and Procter & Gamble.
