Global Cold Chain Alliance, Alexandria, Va.
Corey Rosenbusch was promoted to president and CEO, taking over for Bill Hudson, who served as president and CEO for 32 years. Hudson will now assume the position of president emeritus. Rosenbusch has been with GCCA for eight years, overseeing government affairs, international programs and membership services. Previously, he served as the director of a Texas A&M University cold chain development project in Indonesia. He also worked with food industry executives as president of the National FFA Organization.

NSF International, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Christian Kurdy was named managing director, NSF Middle East, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Kurdy will help guide the growth of the NSF's operations throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries (or region) by providing consulting, testing, auditing and certification services for the water, food and beverage industries as well as quality and environmental management systems registrations. Kurdy has more than 15 years of experience in the construction, energy, industrial manufacturing and quality systems sectors throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Food Marketing Institute, Arlington, Va.
Stephanie Kay Barnes was named regulatory counsel, acting as a representative and advocate on behalf of its members for reasonable regulations across numerous federal agencies. Barnes will also be responsible for helping FMI food retailers and wholesalers comply with regulations and advise them on federal rules related to food safety and other priority issues. Prior to joining FMI, Barnes was senior manager, food portfolio and global programs at the Food and Drug Law Institute, where she was responsible for leading and carrying on the institute’s global initiative.

PROCESSORS/RETAILERS:

Sargento Foods Inc., Plymouth, Wis.
Bill Bartnik was named to the newly-created position of director of manufacturing systems, responsible for providing direction and leadership from plant-to-plant, such as staffing, maintenance, employee safety and food safety, among others to the Plymouth, Kiel and Hilbert, Wis., plants. Since joining Sargento in 2000, he has served in a variety of roles, including manufacturing engineer, production manager in shreds and plant manager of the Plymouth facility. Prior to Sargento, he held several positions at both Oscar Mayer and Kraft Foods. Additionally, Andy Pothast will become the plant manager of the Plymouth plant, while Sandi Howard will become the plant manager of the Hilbert site. Pothast moves into his role with 20 years of experience. Howard brings more than 35 years of experience in the food and manufacturing industry.

Agri-Mark, Waitsfield, Vt.
Ed Townley was promoted to chief operating officer, assuming the role previously held by Dr. Richard Stammer, who was appointed CEO for Agri-Mark in November 2012. Townley spent nine years as chief financial officer for Cabot Creamery Cooperative, where he was responsible for operations, sales, marketing and information technology for Cabot, McCadam and Agri-Mark whey proteins.

Butterball, Inc., Garner, N.C.
Kerry Doughty was appointed president and CEO, responsible for overseeing the company's business strategy and operations. Doughty will leverage his more than 30 years of experience in the food industry. He joined Butterball in 2007 as executive vice president of sales, marketing and innovation, where he was responsible for Butterball's domestic and international retail and foodservice customer relationships, overseeing all marketing and public relations initiatives and leading new product and innovation development. Prior to his seven years with Butterball, Doughty served for more than 25 years in customer service, sales and brand marketing roles with Perdue Farms, Hardee's and Wilson Foods.

McCain Foods Ltd., Canada
Jeff DeLapp was appointed president, North America, effective June 2, taking over for Frank van Schaayk, who is retiring in October. DeLapp brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the food industry, and has a track record of aligning sales and operations for profitable growth. He was president of Lamb Weston from 2002-2010. Prior to joining Lamb Weston, he was president and COO at The Bruss Co. (acquired by Tyson Foods).

High Liner Foods (USA), Inc., Portsmouth, N.H.
Peter Brown was named new president and COO, taking over for Keith Decker, who was promoted last September to president and COO of High Liner Foods Inc. Brown has more than 25 years of experience in the food industry, including 20 years with Cargill Inc., where he held vice president positions with business, sales and operational responsibilities. Most recently, Brown was president of Quantum Foods LLC.

Warrnambool Cheese and Butter Factory Company Holdings Ltd., Australia
Lino Saputo, Jr., CEO and vice chairman of Saputo Inc.; and Louis-Philippe Carrière, executive vice president, finance and administration of Saputo Inc., were added to the board of the directors. Saputo, Jr. was also appointed chairman. Neville Fielke, Terry Richardson and Bruce Vallance were re-elected as incumbent directors. The board also appointed Dino Dello Sbarba as associate director, and Dello Sbarba as the president and COO of Saputo Inc.

Perdue Foods, Salisbury, Md.
Randy Day was named executive vice president of supply chain, responsible for pulling together all sales channels into a coordinated effort to maximize profitability and drive efficiencies while supporting each of the brands in their markets. Day has more than 34 years of experience at Perdue Farms, including more than two decades in senior leadership positions. Most recently, he was senior vice president of sales and supply chain optimization. He joined Perdue AgriBusiness in 2008 as senior vice president, responsible for business development and strategic planning. Prior to that, he served as president and general manager of Perdue’s foodservice division. And, Mark McKay was named executive vice president of sales and marketing. McKay has worked in the poultry and meat industries for more than 28 years, serving more than 16 years in senior and executive level positions. Most recently, he was senior vice president of business development, responsible for the turkey operation in Washington, Ind. McKay joined Perdue Farms in 2011 with the company’s acquisition of Coleman Natural Foods, where he served as chief executive officer. His prior experience included leadership positions at Foster Farms, ConAgra and the PepsiCo Restaurant Group.

Samim Albijat was named a representative in France for the company’s FoodBelts B.V. distributor, responsible for focusing exclusively on selling to end-users in France, where he has sold conveyor belts since 2001. He has 15 years of experience as a development and business manager in the nuclear and aerospace industries.

AFFLINK, Tuscaloosa, Ala.
Paul Vrzal was appointed director of sales–industrial, responsible for leading the company’s current team of business development managers. Vrzal has more than 15 years of experience selling supply chain solutions and industrial/MRO/packaging products to Anheuser-Busch, Cargill and ConAgra.

Spee-Dee Packaging Machinery, Inc., Sturtevant, Wis.
Richard Laforest was appointed new project manager, responsible for handling project management for domestic customers, as well as helping grow the company’s global reach in Mexico and Latin America. Laforest brings a strong project management and sales background, with a 20-year career as a sales engineer, project engineer and product manager with Krones, Inc.

Bishop-Wisecarver Group, Pittsburg, Calif.
Dan Read was named new vice president of sales, responsible for building the company’s global presence by leveraging technology, quality and customer service. Read has more than 20 years of experience in sales and marketing and has worked at MTE Corp., Rockwell Automation and most recently, as vice president of sales and marketing for Bodypoint Designs. Before joining Bishop-Wisecarver, Read spent his career in global sales management, business development and marketing and business management in industrial automation.

Canadian Pacific Railway Ltd., Canada
Chief executive officer E. Hunter Harrison agreed to an additional 1-year contract extension.

Ali Group North America, Vernon Hills, Ill.
Frank Chandler was named president of Belshaw Adamatic Bakery Group, responsible for the day-to-day management of Auburn, Wash., division and for developing and implementing the company’s strategic plan. Chandler has vast experience within the commercial foodservice equipment industry, where he most recently served as general manager for ITW’s Vulcan division. Before his tenure with Vulcan and ITW, Chandler was production manager for Wolf Range Co.

Cashco, Inc., Ellsworth, Kan.
Brandon Bunger was promoted to assistant product manager, responsible for providing technical support on Cachco valve products to other departments within the company. Bunger joined Cashco in June 2012 as a mechanical designer in the engineering department.

Dematic, Grand Rapids, Mich.
Lance Troutman joined the team as senior account manager, responsible for developing logistics solutions for manufacturing, warehousing and distribution operations for the Western region, including the company’s new engineering center in Seattle, Wash. Troutman has extensive experience and expertise as a solution advisor and developer. During his career, he has helped many companies create logistics results by designing and implementing solutions from receiving to shipping in production, warehousing and distribution environments. Prior to joining Dematic, Troutman worked for a robotic order fulfillment solution provider and a global supplier of warehouse logistics automation.

IN MEMORIUM: HERB LOTMAN, KEYSTONE FOODS

Herb Lotman, founder of Keystone Foods, West Conshohocken, Pa., passed away May 8 from complications of heart failure.

Lotman began his career in the food industry with his family’s wholesale beef business. In the late 1960s, he and his partners pioneered cryogenics for McDonald’s and developed a mass-production system for making frozen hamburgers. Keystone Foods developed and provided the first total distribution concept in the McDonald’s system, and was instrumental in developing the Chicken McNugget in the1980s.

Lotman retired from Keystone Foods six years ago, and spent most of his time on various philanthropic causes, including the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (where he served as chairman for 15 years), The Children’s Cancer Research Foundation, The International Board of the Ronald McDonald’s House Charities and most recently, the revival of the Prince Music Theater in Philadelphia. Lotman also co-founded the McDonald’s LPGA Championship, a major women’s professional golf association tournament, which directly benefited Ronald McDonald House Charities. Furthermore, he and his wife Karen established the Macula Vision Research Foundation, which is dedicated to finding a cure and restoring the vision for people who are affected by retinal and macula diseases. All administrative and fundraising expenses for the organization are underwritten by the Karen and Herbert Lotman Foundation.

Lotman is survived by his wife Karen, children Shelly Fisher and Jeff Lotman and grandchildren Julia, Sam and Joseph Fisher and Anna Sophia and Gianna Lotman.
