Japan-based Ajinomoto Inc. announced plans to restructure its subsidiary Ajinomoto North America, Inc. (AJINA), Fort Lee, N.J.

Beginning April 1, the North America division will be divided into the consumer foods business and the amino acids/foods for processed food manufacturers. This restructuring will speed up decision making, strengthen competitiveness and accelerate business development.

AJINA will become a holding company and change its name to Ajinomoto North America Holdings, Inc.

Ajinomoto Frozen Foods U.S.A., Inc. will change its name to Ajinomoto Windsor, Inc., and include its nine group companies, AJINA’s consumer foods business and Amoy North America, a wholly owned subsidiary that sells frozen foods in North America.

And, AJINA’s amino acids/foods for processed foods business will be transferred to Ajinomoto North America, Inc., a newly established subsidiary of Ajinomoto North America Holdings, Inc.

This comes on the heels of Ajinomoto’s latest acquisition, Windsor Quality Holdings, LP, Houston, Texas.
