International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW) and the World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), Alexandria, Va.
David Harlan, president and CEO of United States Cold Storage, Inc., Voorhees, N.J., was elected as the 2012-2013 chairman of the IARW board of directors.
    Other new IARW officers elected for the coming year were vice chairmanDoug Thomas (president and CEO, Bellingham Cold Storage) and treasurerTerry Brown(president, Diversified Port Holdings).
    New directors-at-large members elected to serve three-year terms include José Carranza(Agroempaques) andCarey Falcone(Americold Logistics). In addition,Drew Greenberg (Newport-St. Paul Cold Storage Co.) was elected to represent the Heartland Chapter andJudson Anderson(Loop Cold Storage) was elected to represent the Southwestern Chapter.
    The European Cold Storage and Logistics Association (ECSLA) and the Refrigerated Warehouse & Transport Association of Australia (RWTA) also nominated members to serve. For instance,Hans Van Leeuwen(Frigolanda Cold Logistics) was nominated by ECSLA and elected to the board of directors to serve a three-year term, whileDavid O’Brien(Doboy Cold Stores) was nominated by RWTA to also serve a three-year term.
   Larry Rauch, president, Los Angeles Cold Storage Co., Los Angeles, was elected as the 2012-2013 chairman of WFLO board of governors.
    Other new WFLO officers elected include vice chairmanBill Hendricksen(chief executive officer of Castle & Cook Cold Storage) and treasurerFrank Plant (manager, San Diego Cold Storage).
    New board members elected to serve three-year terms includeBrian Beazer (Winchester Cold Storage) andRavi Kannan(Snowman Logistics). Board membersNick Pedneault (Congebec Logistics); Greg Brandt (Nor-Am Cold Storage); andFred Walker(Americold Logistics) were re-nominated to serve another three-year term.
    In addition,Daryl Lund, Ph.D, from the University of Wisconsin, was re-nominated as a public member and chairman of the WFLO Scientific Advisory Council.

National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association, Harrisburg, Pa.
Roxanne Jones joins as the new communications/digital media coordinator, responsible for developing and maintaining the association’s online and social media presence for both its member and consumer audiences.

NSF International, Ann Arbor, Mich.
Tom Chestnut was appointed vice president of the global food safety and quality division. Chestnut has more than 25 years of food safety experience, most recently serving as NSF’s vice president of supply chain food safety, helping companies strengthen their quality assurance and food safety programs through auditing, testing and certification according to the global food safety standards. Prior to joining NSF, he was with Darden, parent company of Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Bahama Breeze, for more than 20 years. There, he served as vice president of total quality and international director of product safety and quality, and led the implementation of food safety protocols with suppliers throughout Asia, Mexico and Latin America.

The European Federation of Associations of Health Product Manufacturers, Brussels, Belgium
Keith Legge was named chairman. Legge, who has extensive experience of working on legislation in food supplements and foods across the European region, has been an EHPM board member representing the UK Council for Responsible Nutrition for the past three years. Over the last decade, he has been particularly active in technical, scientific and regulatory programs.

American Frozen Food Institute, McLean, Va.
Elise Cortina Fennigwas elected vice president of member services. Fennig joined AFFI in August 2006. She has served in various capacities, including executive director of the Frozen Potato Products Institute and the Texas-Mexico Frozen Food Council, as well as director of industry and public affairs.  She also serves as executive director of the Frozen Food Foundation, a position she will retain in addition to her new role.
    Meanwhile,Adrienne Richardswas named director of industry and public affairs, responsible for administering communications and marketing programs for AFFI and its affiliated associations, including the National Frozen Pizza Institute. Richards comes to AFFI with five years of experience in communications and public relations. She was previously employed by the National Turkey Federation, where she served as spokesperson and manager of the organization’s consumer and foodservice public relations campaigns aimed at promoting the health benefits of turkey consumption.

International Foodservice Manufacturers Association, Chicago
Mary Molt,assistant director, housing and dining services at Kansas State University, received the Gold Plate Award. The Gold & Silver Plate Awards, often called "the Academy Awards of Foodservice," have been recognized as the most coveted operator awards in the foodservice industry since their creation in 1954. These awards pay tribute to winners' contributions to the advancement of their segments and the foodservice industry as a whole. Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility, Burlington, Vt.
Allison Hooper, co-founder of Vermont Butter and Cheese Creamery, is this year’s recipient of the Terry Ehrich Award for social responsibility in business. Named in honor of Terry Ehrich, the late owner of Hemmings Motor News and a founding member of VBSR, the award is given to a VBSR member who best exemplifies Ehrich’s commitment to the environment, workplace, progressive public policy and community.

Eric Foss was named chief executive officer and president, replacing Joseph Neubauer, who will remain as chairman of the board. Foss led the Pepsi Beverages Co. as CEO beginning in 2010. During his tenure, he guided the reintegration of Pepsi Bottling Group and Pepsi Americas into PepsiCo.

The supervisory board of OYSTAR Holding GmbH appointedMarkus Ehl andBarry Shouldersas co-CEOs, effective April 20, replacingTom Graf, who left the company at the end of March. Ehl has been with OYSTAR Group for the past eight years, as chief operating officer, while previously, Shoulders was president of OYSTAR North America. Both were also members of the executive board.

Thomas Tellefsonwas named chief financial officer, responsible for the company’s financial planning and reporting, including human resource records, working with financial and legal partners and acting as a resource to operations and production. Most recently, Tellefson worked at the Brewer Co. as a controller. Prior to that, he worked for 11 years at Geo-Synthetics, Inc. and Derse, Inc.
