Perdue Farms has donated 42,000 pounds of chicken to help the Kingdom Worship Center in Baltimore in its ongoing mission to provide nutritious meals to underserved families amid the pandemic. The donation, which helped feed 5,000 families, is part of Perdue’s “Delivering Hope To Our Neighbors” hunger-relief initiative.

“Throughout the pandemic, the number of families struggling to put a nutritious meal on their tables has intensified, and that need continues for so many,” said Bishop Ralph Dennis of the Kingdom Worship Center in northeast Baltimore. “What are we going to eat? is a question that is often asked in many households. Each time we feed a family, we help meet that need. This is a moment where people feel hope. Perdue, through its generosity, is providing hope.”

Kingdom Worship Center has been actively engaged in feeding underserved families in the greater Baltimore community for more than 20 years. The organization has served as a distribution point for numerous non-profit partners who help deliver food through their networks in the community. Each week, they feed families in Baltimore and reach families in Howard County every two weeks.

“From the protein products that we have received from Perdue during the pandemic, we have served approximately 25,000 families more than 240,000 meals,” said Bishop Dennis. “It is a blessing to know that we are able to meet the needs of so many people in our community.”

“Our neighbors within our communities, including in our home state of Maryland and throughout the U.S., have relied more on their local food banks, pantries and community partners to put a meal on the table for their families amid the pandemic,” said Randy Day, CEO of Perdue Farms. “As a food company, we are uniquely positioned to help those struggling with food insecurity. The work of so many helping to feed families is inspiring, and we’re proud to lend our support.”
