American Egg Board Introduces Sustainability Tool

The Incredibly Sustainable tool is available to egg producers through the AEB’s Incredible Farmer resource hub.

December 12, 2025

The American Egg Board (AEB) is proud to introduce its new Incredibly Sustainable reporting tool during this week’s Sustainable Ag Summit in Anaheim, California, marking a breakthrough in how egg farmers capture and communicate the outcomes of their sustainable efforts.

By combining a streamlined survey, a greenhouse gas calculator and visual impact reports, the tool enables farmers to clearly and efficiently share the results of their sustainability practices with customers and stakeholders, strengthening transparency and demonstrating their ongoing commitment to sustainable agriculture.

The Incredibly Sustainable tool is available to egg producers through the AEB’s Incredible Farmer resource hub.

Egg producers are increasingly asked by their customers to provide detailed sustainability information. These requests can be complex, time-consuming, and vary widely across buyers. Incredibly Sustainable addresses this challenge by offering an all-in-one solution: a survey built from the top 40 most-asked customer questions, an embedded Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) calculator aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, and customizable impact reports.

“Incredibly Sustainable is a first-of-its-kind innovation for the egg industry,” said Emily Metz, president and CEO of the American Egg Board. “The tool gives egg farmers a streamlined way to communicate their sustainability practices and demonstrate leadership in a changing marketplace. Just as importantly, it shows customers that America’s egg farmers are committed to providing the information they need most.”

The Incredibly Sustainable tool took more than a year to develop through extensive collaboration with egg producers and leading retail, restaurant, and CPG buyers, incorporating their feedback through multiple rounds of pilots, testing, and refinement to ensure accuracy and usability. Designed for flexibility, the tool can be used by anyone within an egg producer’s organization, most often a sustainability director or an operations manager.

In addition to improving accuracy, Incredibly Sustainable was built to simplify the reporting process for farmers. By making sustainability requests easier and more consistent to handle across the industry, the tool helps ease the reporting burden while also opening the door to stronger customer relationships and future business opportunities.

The Incredibly Sustainable tool also complements industry-wide efforts such as the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Poultry & Eggs (US-RSPE) Sustainability Framework by providing a greenhouse gas calculator and additional reporting guidance specific to egg producers. Egg producers who are members of the U.S.-RSPE can voluntarily share their metrics from Incredibly Sustainable with US-RSPE for industry-wide reporting.

“Incredibly Sustainable helps position the egg industry as a proactive leader in transparency,” said American Egg Board Vice President of Research, Mickey Rubin, PhD. “By standardizing how sustainability data is collected and shared, the AEB is enabling producers to not only meet requests more efficiently but also demonstrate accountability in a way that builds confidence with retailers, restaurants, and food manufacturers.”

The Incredibly Sustainable tool will be available through the AEB’s Incredible Farmer hub that provides egg producers with a central destination for farmer-focused tools and resources.
