R&FF Top Articles of 2025
Top 150 processors, plant tours among most popular content.

Refrigerated & Frozen Foods connects thought leaders across the cold chain and tells the stories of billion-dollar brands and small startups through its website, podcast, newsletter, eMagazine and more.
This year was anything but boring in the cold foods processing, manufacturing and distribution industries and R&FF’s coverage reflects that.
The overall No. 1 story on RFFmag.com this year was Lineage’s agreement with Tyson Foods, Inc. to expand its cold storage network via a series of acquisitions, greenfield developments and automation.
The world’s largest global temperature-controlled warehouse REIT in April agreed to acquire multiple existing warehouses from Tyson in exchange for a multi-year agreement to design, build and operate two fully automated cold storage distribution locations on behalf of the poultry giant.
Other top pieces of content this year included:
- Reser’s Fine Foods is named the R&FF 2025 Processor of the Year, growing from a single recipe, home-based business to a nationwide presence with thousands of employees and multiple production facilities.
- Blending a legacy site with the latest in automation and logistics technology, Americold’s Russellville, Arkansas facility was named R&FF’s inaugural Cold Storage Facility of the Year. The 300,000-square-foot “plant advantaged” facility is less than a mile from a Conagra plant and services the brand’s frozen portfolio.
- Three new refrigerated and frozen foods were crowned as the annual Best New Retail Products winners.
Opening an ice cream factory is always a big deal and Oregon-based Tillamook gave R&FF a behind-the-scenes look at its new Illinois manufacturing plant that is full of firsts for the dairy processor. And, the annual Top 150 Frozen Food Processors Report, released in May, continues to be among most popular pieces of content.
In 2025, the site included more than 10 Case Studies and R&FF was proud to partner with over a dozen subject matter experts to share their thought leadership as part of our Cold Chain Perspectives columns.
R&FF featured over 365 new cold retail products in 2025 – that’s more than 1 per day, for those keeping track. The most-read new retail product this year goes to Carnegie Deli’s announcement of a combo pack at Costco.
A report by Global Location Strategies ranking the best U.S. areas for food manufacturing identified $15 billion in investment last year, ranking 387 metropolitan areas based on dozens of factors like location quality and operating costs. Dairy processing was among the top sectors for investment in new manufacturing, with Warner Robins, Georgia grabbing the top metro in the U.S.
Thank you to all the gracious subject matter experts who shared some of their expertise with the industry this year and to all those who engaged with Refrigerated & Frozen Foods and our content in 2025!
