The Janesville (Wis.) Gazette reported that Pinnacle Foods Group, Mountain Lakes, N.J., is considering an expansion to its Birds Eye Frozen Division vegetable plant in Darien, Wis. Filed permits call for an expansion of production space, ingredient storage and equipment storage. The project would include the addition of four dock doors, expanded parking and improvements to raw-product staging areas. A second application calls for a 35-million-gallon wastewater-storage lagoon that would be lined with high-density plastic.

Separately, several media outlets reported that diversified foods giant Del Monte Foods Co., San Francisco, appointed Neil Harrison as interim CEO. Harrison previously was chairman and CEO at Birds Eye Foods. Today, he is a senior advisor to Vestar Capital, one of several private equity firms involved in a purchase of Del Monte.
