The Janesville (Wis.) Gazette reported thatPinnacle Foods Group , Mountain Lakes, N.J., is considering an expansion to itsBirds Eye Frozen Divisionvegetable plant in Darien, Wis. Filed permits call for an expansion of production space, ingredient storage and equipment storage. The project would include the addition of four dock doors, expanded parking and improvements to raw-product staging areas. A second application calls for a 35-million-gallon wastewater-storage lagoon that would be lined with high-density plastic.
Separately, several media outlets reported that diversified foods giantDel Monte Foods Co., San Francisco, appointedNeil Harrisonas interim CEO. Harrison previously was chairman and CEO at Birds Eye Foods. Today, he is a senior advisor toVestar Capital, one of several private equity firms involved in a purchase of Del Monte.
