Here's an example of "inspired" product development. The Breyers Yogurt Co., Boulder, Colo., has introduced the Breyers Inspirations line with such flavors as Chocolate Chip and Mint Chocolate Chip.

“Steeped in rich tradition, the Breyers [ice cream] brand has inspired us to create our most innovative product to date," said Breyers Yogurt President Chuck Marcy. "Based on the overwhelmingly positive responses we’ve received so far, I’m confident Breyers  Inspirations is perfectly attuned to the taste and nutrition needs of today’s consumers.”

Rounding out the new Inspirations yogurt line are some of Breyers' other top-selling ice cream flavors: Natural Vanilla Bean and Natural Strawberry. The company says Breyers Inspirations offers consumers the unique taste and texture sensation of Breyers with the benefits of a lowfat yogurt. The line is all-natural, contains live and active cultures, and ranges from only 110 to 140 calories per cup.

Officials say new Breyers Inspirations all-natural, lowfat yogurt is an ideal breakfast food, mid-day snack, nighttime dessert or midnight treat. The product will be available in select retail grocery stores in the Eastern United States starting this summer. Each four-cup package will be sold for a suggested retail price of $2.69.
