Lineage Logistics, a warehousing and logistics company sponsored by Bay Grove Capital LLC, San Francisco, will begin construction of a new 420,000-square-foot multi-use cold storage warehouse in Colton, Calif. Construction will begin at the site at 2063 West Miguel Bustamante Parkway during the summer of 2013 and is expected to be open to customers by May 2014.

Strategically located between the Interstate 10 and 60 freeways in the Inland Empire, the 37.5-acre Agua Mansa site will feature 130 loading dock doors and more than 390 additional trailer parking positions for convenient trucking access. The facility provides a refrigerated cross dock area as well as convertible freezer space with temperatures ranging from -20°F to 50°F. The additional 40,000 total pallet perishable positions will provide Southern California with the necessary capacity to meet the region’s growing demand. This new facility will be the second cold storage facility the company plans to open in the region in 2014.

Late last year, Lineage announced the start of a new cold storage construction project in the Port of Long Beach, which will accommodate 30,000 pallet positions at a port side location serving the Los Angeles market and import/export markets.

“We are very excited to continue building and expanding within the Southern California region,” says Bill Hendricksen, chief executive officer. “The Agua Mansa project will enable Lineage to continue growing with our existing and new customers to meet their developing requirements while creating new jobs for the local economy.”
