Atlantic Food Distributors (AFD), a Canton, Ohio-based broad-line foodservice distributor, acquired Barkett Fruit Co., Dover, Ohio. The acquisition strengthens AFD’s distribution of locally grown and national fresh and perishable products, and the combined synergies will improve service to customers throughout the Northeastern Ohio region.

The acquisition will also provide greater purchasing power and frequency in receiving produce and perishables from local and national farms and growers.
