Colmac Coil’s return air defrost hood device is a fully insulated series of hinged panels that collapse for shipment and then quickly and easily open into the operating position.

Danfoss’ new ICF multi-function control valves are said to serve as a replacement for most conventional mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronically operated valves.
 

Emerson-Climate-refrigeration-unit

Emerson Climate Technologies is in the final stages of launching the latest update to its Copeland Scroll outdoor refrigeration unit.
 

GF-Piping-COOL-FIT-milk-production

The COOL-FIT ABS Plus piping system from GF Piping Systems is a fully pre-insulated plastic piping system designed for indirect cooling applications.
 

HANTEMP-Threaded-Flange

HANTEMP Controls extended its EZWLD line of stainless-steel flanges to now include threaded flanges that can be easily connected to other threaded refrigeration components.
 

Heatcraft-Mohave

Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration released the Mohave remote refrigeration control, an internet-based control system that allows end users to manage their refrigeration systems using any web browser from anywhere in the world.
 

KE2-Evap-controller

The KE2 Evap for Rack Efficiency (KE2 Evap-RE) incorporates the company’s adaptive defrost algorithm to provide energy savings and reduce evaporator icing issues.
 

Logix-Agility

Logix announced its new Agility product line of industrial refrigeration equipment controllers for evaporators, condensers, vessels, mechanical room ventilation equipment and emergency pressure control systems.
 

Zero-Zone-Edge-XT

Zero Zone introduced the Edge XT Distributed System for small retail format stores that do not require a large refrigeration rack or larger supermarket chains who prefer several smaller distributed systems.

24/7 VIRTUAL REFRIGERATION OPERATOR

Frick by Johnson Controls introduced the Quantum HD Unity system controller and energy management solution. This 24/7 virtual refrigeration operator incorporates best refrigeration control practices with reliable, easy-to-use hardware, software and central control system for cold storage and other refrigeration processes. This system unifies multiple controllers into one display. Operators can easily navigate from engine room control to evaporator control to condenser or vessel control with the click of a button. The analog and digital I/O control panel can be mounted anywhere and accessed via the internet.

RETURN AIR DEFROST HOOD

Colmac Coil’s return air defrost hood device is a fully insulated series of hinged panels that collapse for shipment and then quickly and easily open into the operating position. The sturdy panels are made of insulated double-wall construction with active heating to prevent condensation and frosting on the interior surfaces of the hood during defrost.

OUTDOOR REFRIGERATION UNIT

Emerson Climate Technologies is in the final stages of launching the latest update to its Copeland Scroll outdoor refrigeration unit (X-Line). Features include consolidation of multiple control boards and modules into a single, new electronics module, CoreSense diagnostics and protection with onboard error logging of up to 50 time-stamped alarm codes, two-way communication for remote diagnostics and management of system operation, a removable hinged door, a viewing window for quick visualization of status codes without opening any panels and medium-temperature units equipped with Copeland Scroll ZS*KA multi-refrigerant scroll compressors. The updated units will be available for both cooler and freezer applications in 1.5-6 HP sizes.

MULTI-FUNCTION CONTROL VALVE

Danfoss’ new ICF multi-function control valves are said to serve as a replacement for most conventional mechanical, electro-mechanical and electronically operated valves. ICF control solutions consist of one valve housing, plus a maximum of four or six function modules.

EQUIPMENT-SPECIFIC CONTROLLERS

Logix announced its new Agility product line of industrial refrigeration equipment controllers for evaporators, condensers, vessels, mechanical room ventilation equipment and emergency pressure control systems. These stand-alone, equipment-specific controllers are ready “out of the box,” are field configurable and can be set up from any wireless Wi-Fi or Ethernet-connected web browser device such as a smartphone, tablet or computer. Scalable from a single unit to a large distributed control system, Agility supports entire refrigeration system monitoring and control from a central computer, SCADA or PLC platform.

RACK CONTROLLER

The KE2 Evap for Rack Efficiency (KE2 Evap-RE) incorporates the company’s adaptive defrost algorithm to provide energy savings and reduce evaporator icing issues. Plus, this controller is equipped with communication features for alarm notifications, remote monitoring and control and data logging as well as pre-programmed “standard” options for rack control. The controller manages electronic expansion valves, electronic evaporator pressure regulating valves or electronic hot gas bypass valves. And, it can log up to 30 days of data in 10-minute intervals; the logging covers 15 parameters, including temperature, pressure, digital inputs and alarms.

STAINLESS-STEEL FLANGE FOR THREADED REFRIGERATION COMPONENTS

HANTEMP Controls extended its EZWLD line of stainless-steel flanges to now include threaded flanges that can be easily connected to other threaded refrigeration components. The female pipe thread flanges are created using single-point threading, ensuring that the connection is clean and reliable every time. In addition, the stainless-steel construction provides superior resistance, which eliminates the need for surface painting. These flanges are available in 2-bolt oval and 4-bolt square configurations.

REMOTE REFRIGERATION CONTROL

Heatcraft Worldwide Refrigeration released the Mohave remote refrigeration control, an internet-based control system that allows end users to manage their refrigeration systems using any web browser from anywhere in the world. Around-the-clock remote monitoring allows end users to control box temperatures, change configuration parameters and receive alarm notifications should issues occur.

DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM FOR RETAIL GROCERS

Zero Zone introduced the Edge XT Distributed System for small retail format stores that do not require a large refrigeration rack or larger supermarket chains who prefer several smaller distributed systems. Available with either scroll or reciprocating compressors, the Edge XT helps optimize operating efficiency and conserve space within the store. Durable hinged doors allow for easy access and help protect the equipment. The Edge XT also features a weather-tight control panel, sturdy, galvanized exterior integrated condenser coils in micro-channel or “fin and tube” varieties and easy-access, top-mount fans with single or variable speed ECM motors.

PRE-INSULATED PLASTIC PIPING FOR GLYCOL APPLICATIONS

The COOL-FIT ABS Plus piping system from GF Piping Systems is a fully pre-insulated plastic piping system designed for indirect cooling applications such as cold stores, supermarkets, process cooling, food production, dairies and beverage production. The insulation is protected with a watertight, UV-resistant, black polyethylene jacket that is completely diffusion and vapor tight. COOL-FIT ABS Plus is suitable for applications with water-based coolants from 58-104°F at an operating pressure of up to 10 bar and within diameters from ¾-12 inches. Furthermore, COOL-FIT ABS Plus is said to be lighter in weight than metal, significantly reduces the weight load and is corrosion and incrustation proof.
