EQUIPMENT-SPECIFIC CONTROLLERS

Logix announced Agility, a new line of stand-alone, equipment-specific controllers that are field configurable, ready “out of the box” and can be set up from any wireless Wi-Fi or Ethernet connected web-browser device. Scalable from a single unit to a large distributed control system, Agility supports entire refrigeration system monitoring and control from a central computer, SCADA or PLC platform. An Agility Master Supervisory Controller is available for those seeking electrical automated demand management capabilities or the enhanced energy efficiency benefits from plant-wide equipment coordination. Agility controller modules are available for evaporators, condensers, vessels, mechanical room ventilation equipment and emergency pressure control system units.

REMOTE MONITORING OF REFRIGERATED CONTAINERS

refrigeration

ORBCOMM launched its next-generation solution for remote monitoring and control of refrigerated containers traveling by land, rail or sea. The CT 3000 series provides wireless connectivity through a cloud-based analytics platform and information management engine for optimal asset management and utilization. The CT 3000 series supports built-in and external sensors, cellular connectivity and wireless technologies to deliver actionable data on asset location, status, performance, cargo area temperature and more. It can be temporarily installed to monitor assets for a specific duration while on a trip, aboard a vessel or at a terminal or installed on an asset for continuous tracking. This container monitoring solution connects directly to the reefer to enable real-time alerts and 2-way control. Plus, it automates pre-trip inspections to facilitate quicker turn times, lower operational expenses and reduce safety risks to personnel.

CUT THE COST OF DEFROST

Colmac

Colmac introduced three new technologies for use with A+Series air coolers. The Return Air Defrost Hoods are fully insulated hinged panels and collapse for shipment and easily open to operating position. Its double wall construction with optional active heating helps to defrost faster and still reduce frost formed on ceilings and walls. The Discharge Duct Socks consist of lightweight cleanable nylon duct fabric that inflates during fan operation and collapses to capture heat during defrost. Its passive operation requires minimum fan power for inflation. Exclusive patented Return Air Defrost Hoods, Discharge Duct Socks and Demand Defrost Sensors combine to potentially reduce costs associated with defrosting by as much as 90%.
