Carvel, Rich Products create ice cream cookie cake sold in retail
Carvel, Atlanta, partnered with Rich Products Corp., Buffalo, N.Y., to create Carvel Ice Cream Cookie Cake, what is said to be the first in the grocery space.
"Consumer demand for Carvel outside of the famous ice cream shops in the northeast and Florida continues to grow," says Dave Mikita, senior vice president global channels, the multi-channel and licensing division of FOCUS Brands, Carvel's parent company. "People don't want to wait for a special occasion to treat themselves. The Carvel Ice Cream Cookie Cake is a first-of-its-kind product innovation at grocery, while having the convenient, shareable, 'serve anytime' qualities consumers are seeking."
This ice cream cookie cake combines vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookie cakes, and comes complete with Carvel's crunchies around the outside. The new cake resembles a giant cookie ice cream sandwich, and can be sliced, served and enjoyed without needing utensils.
The Ice Cream Cookie Cake is available at select retailers, including Publix, Stop & Shop, Giant Landover, Giant Carlisle and ShopRite for a suggested retail price of $19.99.
