Del Monte Fresh Produce opens state-of-the-art distribution facility

Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc., Coral Gables, Fla., announced the opening of its state-of-the-art distribution and processing center in Houston, Texas.
This 96,285-square-foot facility sits on approximately 8.5 acres, and is the company’s 24th distribution, processing and re-packing operation in North America.
“Our new facility includes state-of-the art ripening rooms, multi-temperature storage areas and value-added services, such as fruit and vegetable processing capabilities, protein production, direct-store delivery (DSD), customized packing and sorting and just-in-time (JIT) delivery, and is a testament to our continued commitment to unparalleled service for our retail partners and consumers,” says Dennis Christou, vice president of marketing.
