Best New Frozen Retail Products Contest 2021

Nominations are now open for Refrigerated & Frozen Foods’ 9^th Annual Best New Retail Products Contest. Due to the popularity of last year’s competition with a record number of votes, we’ve split the contest into two this year: frozen foods in April, and refrigerated foods in August.

Frozen is first, so I will review all the nominations submitted between now and Monday, March 15^th, and select 20 products as finalists for online voting throughout the month of April.

How it Works:

Nominations can be submitted through the form below by food processors and manufacturers as well as suppliers and marketing/PR firms. Products are selected based on uniqueness to the market, packaging enhancements, on-trend flavor profiles, and addressing consumer needs. Seasonal, limited-time-only or special-edition products are not applicable.

Eligible frozen products need to have been on store shelves from March 2020, to March 2021. Products for sale before March 2020 are not eligible.

Products receiving the top-five votes will be featured in Refrigerated & Frozen Foods’ July magazine alongside a company Q&A, and the product receiving the most votes overall will also be featured in an episode of our From the Cold Corner Podcast in July.

Michael Costa is former Editor-in-Chief of Refrigerated & Frozen Foods and FOOD ENGINEERING. Previously, he was Editorial Director of Hotel F&B magazine for 12 years, covering the business of food and beverage in lodging, including restaurants, bars, catering and more, for readers working in hotels, casinos and cruise ships. During his time at Hotel F&B, he guided the publication to six FOLIO: magazine Eddie awards. Before joining Hotel F&B in 2007, Michael attended culinary school at the Illinois Institute of Art while working in the kitchen and in F&B purchasing at the 1,218-room Sheraton Grand Chicago. Prior to that, he worked for six years in TV news as a reporter at network affiliates around the country. Michael is a journalism graduate of Columbia College in Chicago.
