Choptank Transport has awarded $24,000 to 18 qualifying employees through the company's 2020 student loan paydown program. Choptank now has awarded a total of $87,000 through the paydown program since initiating it three years ago.

WIPOTEC-OCS, a leading manufacturer and supplier of precision in-motion weighing and X-Ray scanning equipment, has introduced a completely redesigned catchweigher for the warehouse and logistics sector that utilizes weigh bridge technology to significantly simplify the weighing process. A first in its affordable price range, the new HC-Warehouse Catchweigher features a single central sensor in the scale’s weigh bridge as opposed to individual strain gauge load cells in each of a unit’s four corners. The result is a streamlined single-sensor weighing process and a drastic reduction in wear and tear.

Del Monte Fresh Produce N.A., Inc., one of North America’s leading marketers and distributors of high-quality fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables, has promoted one of its longtime employees, Ana Cristina Fonseca, to the newly created role of Vice President, Product Management. Over the past 28 years, Ana Cristina has displayed a dedicated commitment to Del Monte Fresh Produce, and, in her new role, will lead the Product Management team and enhance supply-chain capabilities to help Del Monte Fresh Produce meet the future needs of the organization.

Atlas Copco USA’s employee-driven Water for All program launches its second round of COVID-19 relief, supporting the distribution of fresh drinking water to Navajo Nation. Atlas Copco will provide $25,000 to Can’d Aid, enabling the organization to deliver more than 50,000 cans of fresh drinking water to the area.

FlexXray announces the opening of a cutting-edge, FDA-registered inspection facility located in Aurora, Illinois. Demand for FlexXray’s services in the Midwest has rapidly increased and grown beyond the capacity of FlexXray’s Elmhurst, Illinois, location which closed on May 18, 2020 when this new Aurora facility opened.

To address concerns about the introduction and spread of COVID-19 at customer workplaces, Hyster-Yale Group is introducing a virus safety initiative for lift trucks.  Developed in partnership with its nationwide dealer network for the company’s Yale and Hyster lift truck brands, HY-Shield Clean is a lift truck sanitization program designed to help keep facility personnel safe during all aspects of forklift activity, including daily operation and service calls.

Brands has opened a new 45,000-square-foot distribution facility in Rhome, Texas (near Dallas) as well as a new facility in Guanajuato, Mexico (near León). The brand, which focuses on small-batch guacamole, salsa and queso products, is moving further into in the avocado and high-pressure processing (HPP) industries. 

Sealand’s smart containers, called "Captain Peter", optimize remote container management. Shippers receive status updates and alerts if the reefer container’s condition deviates from the required settings, like temperature, humidity, CO2 levels and the power status of the container, through sensors in the container. This advanced technology solution helps ensure perishable products arrive at their destination in optimal condition to maximize market value and shelf life.
