3D CAD software aids engineers

Dorner Manufacturing says its new and improved 3D CAD modeling software helps engineers now draw food and sanitary conveyor systems to more precise dimensions.

Officials say one major improvement is the ability to draw to more specific lengths in 1/8” increments. Most other conveyor 3D CAD modeling software only allows users to draw in 12” increments. This improvement to draw in 1/8” increments gives engineers greater flexibility to model and configure a drawing in any length to better fit application designs.

Designed to be more interactive and user friendly, Dorner’s 3D CAD modeling software includes:

- Configure belt cleat spacing in any specification – cleats can be spaced in literally any increment

- Drive shaft can be shown in multiple positions

- Expanded list of accessories for mounting on the conveyor – giving engineers more realistic and accurate CAD models of their application

- Applicable to all of Dorner’s major conveyor platforms: 2200, 3200, 4100, 5200, 6200, 7200, 7300, 7350, 7400, 7600 and MPB Series

- Multiple file formats for downloading: SolidWorks and Pro Engineer, IGES, STEP, ACIS and others

Dorner’s 2D and new 3D CAD modeling software gives engineers all the tools needed to draw and design any conveyor system for applications in packaging, food, automation, material handling or any number of industries. -- Dorner Manufacturing
