ARCO National Construction’s Pacific Coast division, based in Irvine, California, has officially broken ground on a new 67,160-square-foot cold storage facility for Regent Cold Storage. Located at 5400 Alcoa Avenue in Vernon, California, this state-of-the-art facility will feature a 40,377-square-foot -10 degrees Fahrenheit freezer, a 6,972 square-foot dry warehouse, a 1,919 square-foot 35 degree Fahrenheit cooler, a 1,914 square-foot 45 degree Fahrenheit cooler, and blast freezing capabilities that can cool products from 40 degrees Fahrenhit to 10 degrees Fahrenheit within 48 hours. 

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for October 8.

“Regent Cold Storage is the newest addition to Miller Enterprises and represents phase one of a multi-step master plan to develop a cutting-edge freezer, cooler and dry storage facility. This state-of-the-art freezer will allow us to convert the freezer at our manufacturing plant across the street into increased production capacity, thereby optimizing both our production, packaging and efficiency for Rose & Shore, Rite Way Meat Packers, and RBR Meat Co.,” saod Irwin Miller, president of Miller Enterprise Companies.

Rose & Shore, the largest sister company of Regent Cold Storage, has been a leading manufacturer of premium cooked deli meats and frozen food assemblies since 1968. 

Additional features of the new facility will include a CO2 refrigeration system, a 45 degree Fahrenheit cold dock, insulated metal panel construction, and a 48-foot clear height. Site demolition is currently underway, with construction expected to be completed by Summer 2025.
