Just days after announcing the purchase of Danfotech, The Middleby Corporation, Elgin, Ill., also said it agreed to buy Germany's Mauer-Atmos GmbH, Reichenau, a supplier of production equipment and accessories for smoking, cooking, pasteurizing, cooling, baking,  thawing, storage of meat, sausage, poultry, fish and convenience products. Terms were not disclosed. Mauer-Atmos has approximately $20 million in annual revenues, officials said.

Its extensive portfolio of batch and continuous cooking systems will further extend our ability to offer unique and innovative solutions to our food processing customers globally,” said Selim A. Bassoul, Middleby chairman and CEO.

In related organizational move, Middleby said it created a Middleby Food Processing Group, which will include Alkar, Cozzini, Danfotech, Mauer-Atmos, MP Equipment, and RapidPak products. Bassoul said Middleby promoted Ivo Cozzini to group president of sales and marketing, and Magdy Albert to group president of operations.

Food processing, packaging and tenderizing equipment supplier Ross Industries Inc., Midland, Mass., appointed Randy Collins as regional sales manager for the Southeast including Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida. Collins most recently was regional sales manager for Anritsu Industrial Solutions and also previously worked at Industrial Dynamics.

Ross Industries' line includes Ross tenderizers, slicers and dicers; BLC chillers and rreezers, macerators, meat formers, anit-microbial intervention systems and tray sealers.
