Dot Foods, Mt. Sterling, Ill., announced a new partnership with Verde Farms, a Cambridge, Mass.-based USDA-certified organic beef producer. Dot began shipment of Verde Farms’ certified-organic, grass-fed beef and lamb products on Jan. 30.

“This is a great addition to our protein lineup,” says Brian Spears, protein commodity trader at Dot Foods. “Verde Farms is one of the few USDA-certified, organic grass-fed protein suppliers in the country. This expands our ability to meet our customers’ ever-changing needs.”

In the initial stages of the partnership, Dot Foods will handle all foodservice distribution on Verde Farms’ frozen products. This allows Dot customers to order as little as one case of Verde Farms products within their regular Dot order without having to meet larger minimums of buying direct.

“We are excited to begin this relationship with Dot,” says Dana Ehrlich, CEO and founder of Verde Farms. “This puts Verde Farms one step closer to being an affordable, high-quality option for natural and organic protein needs of customers, big and small, across the country.”
