Tillamook develops frozen treats in new handheld size

Tillamook TCHO ice cream
April 12, 2016

Tillamook County Creamery Association, Tillamook, Ore., introduced 14 new flavors of super premium farm-style gelatos, extra creamy ice creams and frozen custards. Flavors feature locally grown hazelnuts, ripe strawberries and marionberries from Oregon and real, pure pistachio butter made with California pistachios.

“The super-premium ice cream segment is booming, and Millennials in particular crave flavor diversity and dimension,” says Sibel Candemir, category manager. “To create Tillamook’s most decadent products yet, we visited popular marketplaces in Los Angeles, New York and throughout the West seeking the best ice cream, gelato and frozen custard experience. Our new offerings deliver the ultimate ice cream experience that Tillamook fans have been asking for. We have a story behind every flavor, and that was the most fun part of the journey.”

New flavors include: Layered Oregon Hazelnut Chocolate Farmstyle Gelato, Layered TCHO Double Dark Chocolate Farmstyle Gelato (a collaboration with San Francisco’s TCHO Chocolate to highlight sustainably sourced cocoa), Layered Chocolate-Covered Strawberry Farmstyle Gelato, Layered Salted Caramel Toffee Farmstyle Gelato, Layered Toasted Coconut Fudge Farmstyle Gelato, Authentic Sweet Cream Farmstyle Gelato, California Pistachio Farmstyle Gelato, Layered Double Peanut Butter Ice Cream, Layered Speculoos Cookie Caramel Ice Cream, Dark Chocolate Mint Ice Cream, Stumptown Cold Brew Coffee Ice Cream (a collaboration with Portland, Ore.-based Stumptown Coffee Roasters), Chocolate Fudge Brownie Frozen Custard, California Peach Cobbler Frozen Custard and Marionberry Cheesecake Frozen Custard.

These new flavors are available in the freezer aisle in major grocery retailers, including Albertsons in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California, Safeway in Northern California, Pacific Northwest and Phoenix, Raley’s in Northern California and Kroger in the Pacific Northwest and Colorado for a suggested retail price of $4.99.
