Frozen pasta made with vegetables

Birds Eye Veggie Made pasta
November 20, 2017

Pinnacle Foods, Parsippany, N.J., created a line of new Veggie Made pastas sold under the Birds Eye umbrella.

These new pastas are made from 100% vegetables and do not contain wheat or flour, fillers or any artificial ingredients.

How it works is, Birds Eye starts with vegetables like zucchini, spinach and lentils that are harvested at the peak of freshness. Then, they are used to make pasta dough similarly to how regular pasta is made. Most varieties are already prepared with sauces like Alfredo, cheddar or marinara.

"Birds Eye Veggie Made pasta doesn't just contain vegetable ingredients, and isn't just plain vegetables cut into shapes of noodles. It looks and tastes just like regular pasta, and it's made completely out of actual vegetables," says Risa Cretella, vice president marketing for Birds Eye. "It's a guilt-free way to enjoy the comforts of pasta with a full serving of vegetables, without having to boil water or clean pots, making it an easy choice to include in holiday recipes or any meal."

Birds Eye Veggie Made pasta comes in the following varieties:

  • 100% Vegetable Pasta Plain Penne Pasta made with Zucchini & Lentils (Original)
  • 100% Vegetable Pasta Rotini Marinara Pasta made with Zucchini & Lentils
  • 100% Vegetable Pasta Penne with Cheddar Cheese Sauce Pasta made with Zucchini & Lentils
  • 100% Vegetable Pasta Rotini Alfredo Pasta made with Spinach & Lentils

The line is available in the frozen vegetable aisle at retailers nationwide.
