Infinity Meat Solutions, a subsidiary of Retail Business Services (RBS), a support services company of Ahold Delhaize USA, Salisbury, N.C., broke ground on a new 200,000 square-foot, state-of-the-art fresh protein packaging facility in North Kingstown, R.I. The $100 million investment is projected to create more than 700 food manufacturing, supply chain and distribution jobs. The new facility will handle beef, ground beef, pork and prepared meats for meal solutions, such as marinated and stuffed meat.

“At Retail Business Services, we're always seeking innovative solutions that enable the local brands of Ahold Delhaize USA to provide fresh, quality products to their customers,” says Roger Wheeler, president of RBS. “With this facility, we're excited to enhance supply chain operations, as well as create hundreds of new jobs in Rhode Island. We look forward to the completing the project and opening our doors in the first half of 2020."

Cargill Protein, Wichita, Kan., will consult on the construction of the facility and manage the site’s operations and workforce.

The Dennis Group, Springfield, Mass., was selected as the design-build firm for the facility.
