Alimplus, Canada, announced plans to acquire AOF Service Alimentaire, a Canada-based distributor of food products to the hotel, restaurant and institutional sectors. As a result of this acquisition, Alimplus is said to be the largest independent food distributor in Québec, Canada.

"The acquisition of AOF positions Alimplus to expand further by extending its geographic coverage in the east of Québec and complementing its strong presence in other parts of the province," says Daniel Le Rossignol, president of Alimplus. "This enables us to provide efficient service on a larger scale by bringing us closer to our customers, who will also benefit from the combined strength of these two highly successful organizations."

Alimplus already boasts two strategically located distribution centers serving the regions connecting Gatineau, Montréal and Québec City. The acquisition of AOF adds a third 125,000-square-foot distribution center in Drummondville, Canada.

"We're pleased that the family business we helped build will continue to grow and flourish within Alimplus," says Hugo Ouellet, president and general manager of AOF. "We chose Alimplus not only because it shares our vision and values, but also because it is Québec-owned and it will maintain our significant operations in Drummondville."
