Westby Creamery Continues Production During COVID-19 Pandemic

Westby Creamery
March 18, 2020

In this time of unprecedented change, Westby Cooperative Creamery wants you to know that we will continue to provide the same high-quality, safe dairy foods you have been accustomed to since our founding 117 years ago.

As a Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level III certified food manufacturer, we take measures every day to assure the safety of our food. From farm inspections to the testing of every load of milk, the process begins on the farm and extends all the way to your dinner table.

The SQF program uses science-based, proven principles to consistently apply standards of food safety and quality to every plant it inspects. Level III is the most comprehensive level of SQF certification and raises the bar by focusing on food quality, as well as safety. The practices that make Westby Cooperative Creamery an SQF Level III certified plant are adhered to every day; meaning, Westby exercises the utmost care in preparing foods every single day, not just when there is an exceptional turn of events.

At this time the plant is operating business as usual, and we have not encountered interruptions in supply.

We encourage all consumers to follow the current Centers for Disease Control measures to protect yourself from contracting Coronavirus (COVID 19). Details on that guideline can be found here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html

About Westby Creamery

Since 1903, the Westby Cooperative Creamery, located in the “Heart of Dairy Country” in Westby, WI, has been producing high-quality cultured and hard cheese dairy products under the same principle since day 1 – small production batches and top quality milk make for a great product.

The Westby Cooperative Creamery is farmer-owned, meaning the more than 100 farmers and their families who supply milk daily to the creamery, own the business. Our farmer-owners share a philosophy in ensuring the best welfare to their animals with rBST-Free milk*; no hormones are injected into the cow to make them produce more milk.

The Westby Cooperative Creamery has thrived over the years on its rich tradition and loyal customer base. As the coop looks to expand its product line across the nation, whether, through the Westby brand or private label opportunities, our commitment to creating the best quality cottage cheeses, sour creams, dips, yogurts, cream cheeses, and organic products will never change.

With over 100 years in business, you could say we know a thing or two about customer satisfaction.
