Diestel Debuts New Pecan-Smoked Whole Turkey

Fully cooked whole bird is slowly smoked over real hardwood in small batches.

Diestel Pecan Smoked Turkey
June 29, 2020

Turkey is not just for Thanksgiving, and Diestel’s new Pecan Smoked Turkey is set out to prove that. Loaded with rich, smoked turkey flavor and infused with the sweet, nutty, Southern-style taste that only natural pecan hardwood can provide, this uncured, slow-cooked bird is a perfect addition to weeknight dinner rotations and special occasions.

Ready to serve in only one to one and half hours, the fully cooked, premium turkey cooks up  juicy and decadent. It’s crafted with care from thoughtfully raised, No Antibiotic Ever, 100% vegetarian fed turkeys and is completely free of artificial ingredients, preservatives, added nitrates or nitrites, growth stimulants and hormones, gluten, casein, carrageenan, phosphates, and MSG.

“Real pecan hardwood has a stronger flavor than most fruitwood, though it’s milder and hickory and mesquite,” shared Heidi Diestel, turkey farmer. “By slowly smoking our original Diestel birds on this beautifully flavorful wood, we’ve created an experience for the taste buds that’s extremely memorable. It’s also super simple to prepare, making it the perfect protein pick for a party spread or an awesome dinner solution that can easily leave crave-able leftovers to last the week.”

Diestel's Pecan Smoked Turkeys, which range from 10-13 pounds, are available for retailers nationwide to carry a la carte or as part of a prepared meal.

About Diestel Family Ranch

The Diestel Family Ranch is one of the few, small, family-owned and operated ranches left in the nation.

Run by a team of passionate and forward-thinking, fourth-generation turkey farmers, the family’s high standards have remained unchanged since the ranch’s founding in 1949. Due to careful farming practices and an emphasis on quality craftsmanship, a.k.a. the Diestel Difference, Diestel’s products are always juicy, tender, and deliver handcrafted artisan flavors. Producing both holiday turkey and year-round products, the Diestel Family Ranch exists for the health and happiness of future generations.
