Bowery Farming, the largest vertical farming company in the U.S., unveils a new "Farmer's Selection" product category, a line of rotating, small-batch, wildly flavorful, next-generation greens, curated by Bowery's R&D team. Bowery’s Mustard Frills — hearty mustard greens with a tingly start and a fiery, wasabi-style finish — are the first greens released under this new category and will be available in select grocery retailers this week through spring 2021, followed by Green Sorrel.
Nature Fresh Farms welcomes Robert Van Der Geest as General Manager to their Mexico team. The company has financially invested in the operation of a 15-acre greenhouse with an additional 15 acres under construction, located in Central Mexico. Van Der Geest has been brought on to lead their greenhouse operations.
Houweling’s Group has moved to its new Nogales, Arizona, distribution and packing services center. Having outgrown the 18,000-square-foot facility the company operated the last few years, the new 30,000-square-foot facility has 50% more receiving bays, six coolers with the ability to manage three separate climate zones and a cooled packing area.
Bowery Farming (Bowery), the Modern Farming Company, announced today the appointment of Colin Nelson to the newly-created role of Chief Supply Chain Officer. Nelson boasts three decades of experience in end-to-end supply chain management and operations at major multinationals, including Walgreens Boots Alliance, Unilever, and GlaxoSmithKline. He joins Bowery as a member of its executive leadership team and will oversee Bowery’s seed to store operations, including procurement and planning, manufacturing and maintenance, construction and engineering, logistics, and delivery.
Bowery Farming (Bowery) announced a physical and digital brand evolution that includes a new logo, website design, and product packaging. Bowery’s bold new packaging is shipping to retailers this month and boasts the first design of its kind in the produce aisle. The packaging is designed to stand out on shelves with clean lines, familiar colors, and clear callouts that visually inform the customer about the taste and type of produce. Additionally, the location of the local Bowery farm each product was grown and harvested at is clearly printed on each package.
Bowery Farming (Bowery), the modern indoor farming company, announced its newest leafy greens launch, Bowery Crispy Leaf Lettuce (Crispy Leaf). A reinvigorated version of iceberg lettuce that is refreshing and simple, Crispy Leaf boasts a bold color and satisfying crunch. The much-anticipated product, which goes from harvest to shelf in just a few days, will be available in the produce aisle at over 250 grocery stores and specialty markets in the Tri-State area and Mid-Atlantic region beginning in June 2020. Crispy Leaf will also be available through Bowery’s online partners, including Amazon Fresh, Peapod, and Hungryroot.
