Great Lakes Cheese Co. Inc., Hiram, Ohio, completed an $80 million expansion at its Adams, N.Y., cheese plant.

The Amarillo (Texas) Globe-news reported that Hilmar Cheese Co., Hilmar, Calif., plans by this fall to expand its Dalhart, Texas, plant.

Solar Nation, Portland, Ore., said it installed and commissioned a 200kW solar-electric system on a Gresham, Ore., public refrigerated warehouse operated by Henningsen Cold Storage Co.

Michael Foods, Inc. Minnetonka, Minn., said its parent, M-Foods Holdings, Inc., signed a definitive agreement under which its owners, affiliates of Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL") and certain current and former members of management, will sell Michael Foods to affiliates of GS Capital Partners.

Now describing itself as a "global powerhouse in snacks, confectionery and quick meals," Kraft Foods Inc., Northfield, Ill., used the 2010 Food Marketing Institute show in Las Vegas to debut more than 30 new products, including several refrigerated offerings.

The Associated Press reported that cheese and whey protein processor Bongards' Creameries, Bongards, Minn., purchased a former ACH Food Companies plant in Humboldt, Tenn.

Dairy foods processor Foremost Farms USA, Baraboo, Wis., said it expects by early 2011 to complete an expansion at its Appleton, Wis., mozzarella cheese plant.

Bongrain Cheese USA, New Holland, Pa., said it completed a "significant expansion" at its West Coast (Fleur De Lait) plant in the City of Industry, Calif.
