The board of directors of the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA) said it voted Wednesday to switch the association's dairy trade show to "an annual event focused on the dairy industry."

Southeastern Mills, Inc., Rome, Ga., said it purchased Superior Quality Foods (SQF), an Ontario, Calif., supplier of  food bases, gravy mixes and dry seasoning blends for retail and industrial customers.

Frozen private label and foodservice bagel processor Fleischer’s Bagels, Inc., Macedon, N.Y., said it hired Mike Rosensteel as national sales manager – retail/alternate channels.

Retail distributor United Natural Foods, Inc., (UNFI) Providence, R.I., said it will lease a 590,000-square-foot multi-temp distribution center in Lancaster, Texas.

Frozen organic food processors Helen's Kitchen, Irvine, Calif., and The Organic Bistro, Scottsdale, Ariz., said they merged to form Food Collective Inc.

MKG Provisions, Woodville, Texas, said it has begun partnering with an unnamed seafood processor in El Salvador to supply frozen seafood items to commissaries as well as foodservice and retail customers.

Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, Inc., New York, N.Y., said it will partner with The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. and its affiliate Hain Pure Protein Corporation to introduce a new Martha Stewart-branded food line at retail.

Dairy giant Dean Foods, Dallas, said it will promote Joseph Scalzo to Dean Foods chief operating officer, effective November 1.
