  After nearly a decade of helping to start and grow the brand, co-founder and COO Justin Trout has stepped down. David Yarmoff will replace Trout as COO.

Kombucha brand Health-Ade announced longstanding partner First Bev has acquired a controlling stake in the company, with investment help from Manna Tree. Daina Trout, who co-founded Health-Ade in 2012, has taken on the new role of Chief Mission Officer and will work in partnership with Jack Belsito, Managing Partner of First Bev, who will assume the role of CEO. Daina and Jack will be working to cultivate further growth for the fast-growing business, capitalizing on increasing consumer demand for gut-healthy products and expansion opportunities in retail accounts domestically and internationally.

Aqua ViTea, the largest kombucha brand on the East Coast, has made four strategic executive hires: Chris Gallant, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer; Steve Konczal, Chief Financial Officer; and Chip Nolin, Chief Operating Officer. To capitalize on the fast-growing market of hard kombucha, the company is also bringing on Billy Keighley as Sales Director of its alcoholic kombucha line, AfterGlow. AfterGlow Hard Kombucha by Aqua ViTea, the alcohol-aware kombucha company, introduces Cherry Sour, a refreshingly juicy and tart flavor, and Apricot Dream with fresh, crisp notes of hops. Similar to AfterGlow's other popular flavors, Ginger Blue and Citrus Rush, Cherry Sour and Apricot Dream contain an alcohol content of 5% ABV and are gluten-free, non-GMO, lower calorie, lower sugar and paleo- and vegan-friendly.
