Keystone Foods LLC, West Conshohocken, Pa., expects to double frozen chicken and beef processing once it relocates from a 75,000-sq.-ft. plant in Gadsden, Ala., to a larger 184,000-sq.-ft. facility to be constructed in the same town. Quoting General Manager Victor Turner, the Gadsden (Ala.) Times said Keystone will invest $118 million in the new operation and expects to bolster annual production from 70,000 pounds of product to between 120 million to 140 million, upon completion. Southern Cold Storage, a division of Richmond Cold Storage, will build a dedicated, $9 million distribution center on the same new property, the newspaper said.
