To expand its Northwest presence, United States Cold Storage (USCS), Voorhees, N.J., has constructed and now opened a 1.8 million-cubic-foot public refrigerated warehouse in Clearfield, Utah, 28 miles north of Salt Lake City.

"This is an excellent regional location for USCS," said David Harlan, company president & CEO. "As we grow our presence in the Northwest market, it allows us to meet the needs of existing customers and to develop relationships with food manufacturers and distributors in the area."

The facility offers more than 6,000 racked pallet positions for frozen, refrigerated and dry products at temperatures from -5F to ambient. It has 19 dock doors; an enclosed, refrigerated dock; and offers cross-docking services.

Led by Operations Manager Riad Sweilem, Clearfield also will utilize RF bar code scanning and offer eUSCOLD real-time online data about inventory, receiving and orders shipped.
