May 19, 2009
LOGISTICS BRIEFS: Philippe Lambotte, Kraft Foods Inc. senior vice president of customer service and logistics, will address the issues of "Delivering on Brand Promise" during the Supply Chain Executive Conference, May 27-29, in Phoenix. Sponsor AMR Research says Lambotte will discuss how Kraft uses retail customer demand data to customize its supply chain efforts without sacrificing profitability. . . The World Food Logistics Organization and the Postharvest Technology Research & Information Center at the University of California Davis said they received a $1.2 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to identify strategies to increase the incomes of small-farm growers in sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia by reducing crop losses and keeping fruit and vegetables marketable longer.
