Kemp's, Nestle Pizza win Golden Penguins
Dairy processor Kemp's LLC and Nestle USA-Pizza Division were among the industry's best branded food merchandisers and promoters during March "National Frozen Month," according to the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA).
The Harrisburg, Pa.-based association said it awarded 23 Gold Penguins in recognition of the best frozen food promotions during March 2011. Officials said they will present the awards during NFRA’s Convention in Orlando, Fla., October 25, 2011. Other category winners include participating military commissaries, retail supermarkets, frozen food associations, retail sales agents and wholesalers (corporate and co-op).
Kemp's, St. Paul, Minn., processes ice cream, frozen novelties and frozen yogurt along with a host of refrigerated items. Nestle, Northbrook, Ill., processes and markets frozen DiGiorno, Tombstone and Jack's pizzas.
NFRA said it also recognized 55 Silver Penguin winners. Branded manufacturer recipients include Ateeco/Mrs. T's Pierogies, Nestle Prepared Foods Co. and Nestle USA-Pizza Division.
