Chobani yogurt processorAgro Farma, Norwich, N.Y.,said it  purchased Australia'sBead Foods Pty Ltd. a Melbourne-based processor of Gippsland Dairy retail dairy products -- including yogurts -- for supermarket outlets,  health foods stores and delis throughout Australia and South East Asia.

"This acquisition marks a major milestone for Agro Farma as we expand our global reach into key international markets. And we couldn't have picked a better partner to start with," said Hamdi Ulukaya, Agro Farma CEO and founder. "Not only are Bead Foods' products world class, but so are their people. We look forward to learning from them, sharing our knowledge and growing together."


TheNorth County Times(Escondido, Calif.) reportedHollandia Dairy Inc., San Marcos, Calif., is adding 30,000 square feet to its plant there. Officials told the publication that the new addition will house cold storage, water treatment facilities and new office space -- and free up other room for additional milk processing capacity. Hollandia processes milk, juices, cultured products, ice cream and novelties.
