With kids headed back to school, Kraft Foods' Oscar Mayer brand is back with six new refrigerated Lunchables featuring more wholesome components and ingredients.

"Moms told us what they wanted and we listened," says Darin Dugan, Lunchables senior director of marketing. "So we've added items like spring water, applesauce and bread made with whole grain."

The six new varieties also feature sub sandwiches, turkey made from 100 percent turkey breast (for protein) and Kraft 2% cheddar cheese (for calcium). Kraft, Northfield, Ill., notes two new items -- Turkey & Cheddar Sub Sandwich and a Deep Dish Cheese Pizza -- meet the company's nutritional criteria to be called a Kraft Foods Sensible Solution.

Varieties include a Turkey & Cheddar Sub Sandwich, Ham & American Sub Sandwich, Turkey & Cheddar Cracker Combos, Ham & American Cracker Combos, Deep Dish Cheese Pizza and Deep Dish Pepperoni Pizza. The new offerings carry a suggested retail of $3.49.

Kraft says the new items also come in clear, snap-and-close packaging with recyclable sleeves, bottom trays and water bottles.

"Our product packaging really tops off the introduction of this new line," says Dugan. "We've made it easier for mom to see exactly what's inside."
