AIT Worldwide Logistics, Itasca, Ill., opened the doors to its new office in Laredo, Texas.

The station, called AIT-Laredo, is housed in a C-TPAT-certified building with access to 120,000 square feet of warehouse space, 34 dock doors and a yard that can securely accommodate as many as 75 trailers. Other benefits include reliable operating systems and advanced safety features.

Furthermore, the AIT-Laredo site is near the U.S./Mexican border, making it ideally situated in providing in-house U.S. and Mexican customs brokerage and maquiladora import services.

Overseeing AIT-Laredo are AIT-McAllen branch managers Ruben Garza and Raul Rendon, who boast 32 years of combined supply chain management experience.

“We are very excited about opening this office,” says Garza. “Our company culture, competitive rates and emphasis on putting the customer first means we are in an excellent position to gain market share in the region.”

“Laredo is a strategic gateway for North American transportation with more than 2 million trucks crossing the U.S./Mexican border in this locale every year,” adds Ray Fennelly, executive vice president. “I am very pleased with the enhancement in the services and capabilities we are delivering to our customers with AIT’s expansion in this market.”
